Professor Tassew Woldehanna named as new Addis Ababa University president

Ethiopian Ministry of Education elects Prof. Tassew Woldehana Kahsay as Addis Ababa University‘s President.

(AAU) The Ministry of Education appointed Professor Tassew Woldehanna as Addis Ababa University’s next president, according to a report by Fana Broadcasting. He was selected among two other finalists; Professor Bekele Gutema and Dr. Jeilu Omar.

According to AAU’s press release  University Board, Faculty, Students and from the individuals from the industrial sector were included in the selection committee.

Tassew Woldehanna has worked as a part-time Assistant professor in Agricultural Economics and Rural policy at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He has also been teaching economics at Addis Ababa University.

Prof. Tassew holds an MSc in Agricultural and Environmental Economics and Policy and a PhD in Economics from Wageningen University, Netherlands.
