Ethiopia celebrates Epiphany eve – Ketera

The annual Timkat celebration, an Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia celebration of Epiphany, that remembers the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan river which is celebrated in Tir 11 of Ethiopian calendar.




And the eve of Tikmet, that is called locally as Ketera, is a celebration of taking tabots (Ark of the Covenant) to a place where the baptism will take place.
