The first African to become the Director General of World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has cried while visiting Rwanda’s Nyamata Genocide Memorial.
Dr. Tedros arrived in Rwanda last Wednesday to discuss about Universal Health Coverage with Rwanda’s leaders.
As the picture shows, he cried while visiting the Nyamata Genocide Memorial that remembers victims of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide.
He has tweeted about visiting the genocide memorial center;
This is #Rwanda’s past. 1 million people were killed during the 1994 genocide, including 10,000 in this church alone, now a moving memorial. The brutality and evil that is commemorated here is beyond words. The world must learn from this. Never again. pic.twitter.com/KAOIncQEUQ
