Ethiopia announces a new Directive Exempts Travelers from Duties

Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance & Economic Cooperation (MoFEC) announced a new directive which entitles travelers to bring in items for personal use free from customs duties.




According to local Ethiopian Business News Paper, Addis Fortune, the new directive exempts items under the categories of communication attachments, that includes, cameras and their accessories, musical instruments, office machines, kitchenware, food and beverages from tax.

Here is the list of 351 items that are entirely tax-free, but some of these will have a partial exemption based on their quantity.
