Ethiopia and Sudan agreed on free trade zone, a railway line and the Nile

Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir said at a joint press conference in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, that Ethiopia and Sudan has agreed to launch a free trade zone, a railway line and to promote equitable use of the water of the Nile River.

The efforts of Ethiopia and Sudan towards the economic integration of their two nations are exemplary to other countries in the region, Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has said.

The Premier made the remark on Tuesday in Addis Ababa during talks with President Omar al-Bashir, who is here on a three day official visit.

The two leaders exchanged views on ways of strengthening the existing bilateral cooperation between the two sisterly countries.

President Bashir, who expressed contentment about the longstanding friendship of the two nations, called for further reinforcement of the cordial relations.
